Staying young and healthy is possible for everyone!

Aging does not have to be an expected way of life for anyone. We can influence and control the aging in our looks of our face and our bodies. Learn techniques and tools that can aid in your intentions for staying youthful, healthy, and strong.

Even though you may age ‘chronologically’, understand that there is also to consider a ‘ biological age’. Biological age, also called physiological age, is a measure of how well or poorly your body is functioning relative to your actual calendar age. Chronological age refers to the actual time a human has been alive, while biological age refers to how old that human seems.

It is to your advantage that you may have had many birthdays and candles on your cake- because of the wisdom that you have gathered over the years past, but to have a young biological age would be an added bonus!

Accept the many years that you’ve lived as a blessing, with the gifts of wisdom- and use this positive attitude to have an appreciation, grace, and love for yourself. This self-love will in turn manifest itself in your appearance and manner as a quiet calmness and confidence of tranquility and peace- beyond which any money can ever buy, or nor can any expensive skin cream ever duplicate. Have you seen how some well seasoned men, or women, are admired for their inner beauty and ability to tackle any job with ease? It’s the inner knowing and trust that all is well.

As Kate Winslet, the actress, was quoted as saying in the Porter Magazine, “I’m baffled that anyone might not think women get more beautiful as they get older. Confidence comes with age, and looking beautiful comes from the confidence someone has in themselves.”

What Science Says About Aging

Have you gone to your high school reunion and saw that most of your classmates are hard to recognize, but a few you may still remember as they look the same back in your school days?

Harvard Medical School did research on aging and their results found that some people in the study looked younger than their true age because of a vital component they refer to as the “younger gene”. This research was conducted by Dr. Alexa Kimball, a Harvard dermatology professor. She found that the ‘younger gene”, the recipe for genetically youthful skin, was present in 10 percent of the white Americans, and in around 20 percent of Black Americans. Even so, do not feel all is lost, as this was only one of the ways in keeping a youthful appearance.


How Antioxidants Prevent Aging

There is growing evidence that antioxidants are the key to slowing the aging process. Studies show that the antioxidants protect the brain from free radicals.  What are free radicals?  Free radicals have been described as the unstable molecues produced by the the body’s use of oxygen: free radicals are harmful because they weaken the cell walls and damage the cells of the body, the brain included. 

The natural antioxidants in our body begins to decline at age 20. Antioxidants have the ability to stabilize or deactivate free radicals before they attack the cells.
